It's now 31 years that I've been a nurse. For 24 + years, I worked in various settings including: Labor & Delivery,Antepartum High Risk, and with companies promoting prematurity education.
The last 8 years I've been a RNC-in a busy perinatal testing unit monitoring High Risk Pregnant Moms.
My "kids" are now adults ranging from ages 37-41. My grandchildren are Isabella(Izzi)age 11, and Noah age 6. I have been blessed with love & joy from my family.
My babies were born in the "dark ages" : No monitoring, no ultrasound, and basically no meds.
I've seen and done it all as a nurse working with moms, dads, babies, families etc.
I LOVE to share my stories with patients to ease their anxiety. Laughter lightens the moment.(My husband calls this "talk story")
So, for the fun of it, and maybe to preserve my memories, I'm going to tell them here. I'll probably add my 2 cents with other pregnancy/ motherhood issues or anything else that comes to my mind!(Politics, Nursing Profession, etc.)
